Ahh, Jimmy's.... Where else can one find Polish sausage, pitchers of beer, ongoing theological debates, and an Encyclopedia Britannica oft-used to settle arguments?

Officially known as the Woodlawn Tap, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and University of Chicago (UofC) students know this much-loved establishment simply as "Jimmy's," named for its late owner. Just steps from LSTC, the land Jimmy's resides on is actually owned by the UofC. When the university decided to develop the land for its own use, Hyde Parkers, as the neighborhood residents call themselves, rallied to save the land — in order to save Jimmy's!

If you find yourself in Hyde Park, stop by Jimmy's for a glass of Leinenkugel, a Polish sausage, and some good conversation. (And wonder if you're sitting on the same chair Joe once sat upon — not much changes at Jimmy's!)
