From this page, you can download and listen to copies of the audio materials we have digitized from our cassette tape holdings. Many of these recordings have been backed up onto reel-to-reel master tapes, but in most cases, a cassette copy is the most-original version of the recording we have.
We are in the process of digitizing the entire collection. Materials that do not appear here may be requested from the Archives. You may find particular recordings in our AV catalogue, or search for references in the searchable PDF of tape summaries made by Meta George, entitled Recordings of Joseph Sittler. This is also a good way to follow along while listening.
The Archives does offer audio CD versions on request, whether of the raw tape data or of an edited master, for a nominal fee. One CD holds approximately 82 minues of audio. Larger recordings will require multiple discs, and sets will be divided as appropriate. We also have a few CD compilations that we have produced for events, including two discs from Dr. Sittler's interim pastorate in Hyde Park, and one containing a set of three parable retellings from St. Olaf College. These are also available on request, for a nominal fee.
Please contact Ben Taylor, the Archives' graduate fellow, for more information.
